So why Waves Learning?

With over 20 years in online learning design, we blend deep instructional insight with full-scale development expertise.

But what really sets us apart? We integrate two high-impact strategies into every project to help your program stand out and succeed:

Transformational Design

We don’t just organize content — we design learning experiences that are engaging, relevant and built to create real impact.

Our approach blends facilitation frameworks like Appreciative Inquiry and XChange with proven learning design strategies, including experiential learning, action mapping and problem-based design.

The result? Learning experiences that spark engagement, drive real-world action and invite meaningful transformation.

AI-Enhanced Development

We use AI not only to streamline the process, but to unlock more creative possibilities.

On the design side, AI helps us generate ideas, shape content and explore new instructional approaches, without adding extra work on your end.

For learners, AI supports interactive, personalized experiences with just-in-time practice, feedback and support. The result is learning that’s impactful and ongoing — not just a one-time event.

A Note from Kimberly

Can I be honest? Most online learning kinda sucks.

We’ve all been there. Clicking through endless slides, zoning out as a monotonous voice drones on, wondering how something so lifeless could possibly spark real learning.

And even more truthfully? I’ve created a few of these “click-next” page-turners myself. The low point of my career was the day the CEO clarified, “It doesn’t matter if they learn, as long as they complete it.”

That way of thinking is exactly why I created KaiCompass, a collaborative, guided process for turning your knowledge into an engaging, online learning experience. This work is our line in the sand. We're here to build learning that works. Learning that matters. Learning that changes lives.

Okay, now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, let me introduce myself properly. I’m Kimberly, the founder of Waves Learning, and a lover of big ideas, the power of transformation and a true lifelong learner. Yep, I was that kid who used to read the encyclopedia for fun.

Today, I help coaches, facilitators, L&D professionals and purpose-driven organizations scale their work through transformational learning design. My role? To bring structure, creativity and life to your vision, so it resonates deeply with the people you serve.
A few other random things about me:

Most importantly, I’m a mom to three amazing (adult) kids and a Gigi to three wild and wonderful young humans.

I love learning. (Yep, I really was that kid who read the encylopedia for fun.)

I'm also a fan of college football, F1 racing, key lime pie, and long walks on the beach. I love island life and, as you might guess from my company’s name, I’m happiest near (or under) the ocean.
